About Paul
Paul R. Hutcherson was born and raised in Weakley County, Tennessee, where he attended Dresden High School and was a participant in many activities including baseball, basketball, and football, as well as was an active participant in FFA where he won a state title in archery. While attending Dresden High, Paul was a member of the 1987 Dresden High School State Championship Baseball Team.
After high school, Paul went on to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin for his Bachelor degree and Union University for his licensure in educational leadership. While at UTM, Paul received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Marketing, earning a spot on the Dean’s List. He was also a part of the UTM Alumni Council and active leader and member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity where he served on the executive board.
After teaching marketing for six years in the Weakley County School System, Paul decided to pursue his Juris Doctorate degree and attended law school in Nashville where he graduated in 2003. While in law school, Paul was nominated and elected by his classmates to serve on the Nashville School of Law Honor Council. He also served as his class’s vice president and was an executive officer of the Sigma Kappa Delta professional law fraternity.
Despite all of his academic and professional endeavors and achievements, Paul has always kept his faith and family first. Paul is married to his wife, Carla, and has three boys, Dale, Tyler, and Kyle. He and his family are members of Dresden First Baptist Church.
Legal History
Both during and after law school, Paul has gone on to gain valuable experience in the legal field and has developed his skills over his past 14 years of practice. In his early years as an attorney, Paul worked as an associate attorney for the Honorable James H. Bradberry. Following two years as an associate, Paul co-founded his own law firm where he has served as owner and partner for over ten years. As an experienced attorney and counselor at law, Paul has expertise in trial work, oral advocacy, mediation, negotiation, civil litigation, criminal matters, personal injury, family law, divorce/domestic relations, workers compensation, social security/disability claims, child custody, and adoption.
Licenses
Paul is licensed to practice law in the State of Tennessee, the United States 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Federal Court.

Community
To go along with his background in law and leadership experiences, Paul is also an active member of the Weakley County and Tennessee community. Paired with his membership on the City of Dresden Fire Department, Paul is an active and contributing member of the Dresden High School Quarterback Club and films all Dresden High School football games. He is a proud supporter of all Weakley County athletic teams and contributes his time, money, and effort in striving to make the youth of the community as successful as possible. Paul is also a member of Dresden First Baptist Church and regularly contributes to City of Dresden Council meetings.
